Spend a week in Europe exploring storybook settings alongside your favourite storytellers.
Do you think Jamie from Outlander is a dreamboat? Then the new celebrity-hosted Storyteller Series by Avalon Waterways is your dream cruise.
Sam Heughan, the dashing actor who plays the Scottish highlander in the TV series, is not going to be onboard. But the author of the bestselling books will be.
Meet the storytellers
Diana Gabaldon is one of many world-renowned authors and musicians who is joining this new series of sailings in 2021 and 2022. Other big names include:
- Candace Bushnell, international bestselling author of the Sex and the City anthology
- Cheryl Strayed, international bestselling author of Wild
- Gillian Flynn, international bestselling author of Gone Girl
- Christopher Moore, international bestselling comic fantasy novelist
- Edwin McCain, Billboard-topping singer-songwriter
What sets the Storyteller Series apart from other river cruises?
The Storyteller Series will cruise some of Europe’s most popular waterways, on Avalon Cruises’ highest-rated itineraries.
All itineraries will be aboard the company’s award-winning Suite Ships. These feature the industry’s only Panorama Suites and Open-Air Balconies.
“On each sailing, with no more than 160 fellow travellers, fans of our celebrity hosts will be privy to special gatherings – from book-signings to concerts and Q&A sessions – not to mention, off-the-cuff opportunities to interact with their host, while on ship or in port,” Pam Hoffee, managing director of Avalon Waterways said.
