One of Rome’s most revered palaces gets a new hotel

Housed within the 17th-century Palazzo Borghese, and occupying an entire southwest wing, the Palazzo Vilòn will be the ultimate base for couples, heads of state and VIPs. 

Positioned mere moments from the Spanish Steps, a new standard of luxurious accommodation will soon welcome guests, with Palazzo Vilòn’s open date set for May 2023.

Original architectural and baroque design features have been painstakingly restored to provide accommodation that is full of period charm. Its ambience and offerings hint at its namesake’s legacy of style, and its former times as the romantic place of Principe Borghese and his wife, for whom he had built the three iconic fountains the garden is renowned for.

During your stay, you’ll have your own butler service, a private chef on call, as well as access to a Privamene Club for late-night parties or cinema experiences.

Fountains and majestic bedrooms

In the bedrooms, restored majestic high-ceiling interiors date back to 1600 in its full grandeur. The walls, marked by fluted pilasters with Corinthian capitals joined by festoons, are decorated with two rectangular panels and four round panels depicting Old To- bias handing his son over to the angel and Christ with the sons of Zebedee and their mother, and the allegorical figures of the four elements, Earth, Air, Water and Fire.

With four bedrooms, all equipped with an en-suite, the grand palace also features a spacious living room and a mirror dining room, a private spa with sauna and Turkish bath, a private pool, a private gym, a professional kitchen fully equipped and access to a private garden space.

The ultimate urban retreat for vilòners, two private entrances on Via di Ripetta and a secluded one, adjacent to the Spanish Embassy, that offers discrete and private check-ins. Entering the generous space, two imposing gateways are flanked by columns and a balcony on either side of the main façades’ three levels, which have the two mezzanines placed between them. A glimpse of the courtyard – at the centre stage of Palazzo Vilòn- and one of the wall fountains in the garden beyond is visible through the gate on the Piazza Fontanella Borghese.
