The Orient Express is building the world’s largest yacht

Get ready for a new benchmark in luxury sailing, with the launch of the Orient Express Silenseas.

Pioneers in luxury train travel, Orient Express, is building what will be the world’s largest sailing yacht. A partnership between its owner, Accor, and French shipbuilders Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the boat will set sail in 2026.

Accor CEO and Chairman, Sébastien Bazin, says this is the beginning of a new chapter in its long history.

“This exceptional sailboat, with roots anchored in the history of Orient Express, will offer unparalleled service and spaces with refined designs, reminiscent of the golden age of legendary cruises. Innovation is at the heart of this ultra-modern sailboat which will revolutionise the maritime world with new technologies to meet sustainable challenges.”

The 220-metre-long boat will boast 54 suites, plus a 1,415-square-metre Presidential Suite complete with a private terrace.

There will be two swimming pools that includes a swimming corridor suspended between two bridges, two restaurants, a speakeasy bar, an amphitheatre and a private recording studio.

Guests can also relax in the onboard spa with luxe treatments and meditation sessions, with onshore stopovers tailored to disconnect guests from the “reality of time”.

An environmentally friendly ethos is also at the fore, with the ship combining wind power with a state-of-the-art engine running on liquefied natural gas to allow the use of green hydrogen.

The Orient Express Silenseas is set to sail in the Mediterranean in summer and the Caribbean in winter.
