A new level of luxury is coming to Melbourne with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton in early 2023.
Soaring 80 stories above the city, the 257-room property on Lonsdale Street will be the tallest hotel in Australia when it opens in March. Step inside and you may never want to leave.
A Ritzy affair
On arrival, an express elevator will whisk you to the top floor where sweeping views of the city and Port Phillip Bay await.
Inside walls will be adorned with works by local artists. There’s also a signature restaurant and an intimate library bar.
Dive into the heated indoor infinity pool or relax on the deck while taking in the twinkling lights of the city skyline. Or have a bespoke treatment at the spa, relax in the sauna or take time out in the tranquil yoga space.
Everywhere is custom leather and velvet furniture, handmade glass panels and marble bathrooms.
Blending The Ritz-Carlton’s refined luxury with an authentic Australian experience, the property will “celebrate the country’s ancient stories and vibrant cultures, filtered through a distinctly Melbourne lens”.
The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, general manager Antony Page, says the design will blend the best of the brand and the destination, “combined with the finest amenities, culinary offerings, and highly personalised service, to deliver an experience tailored to today’s luxury guest and deeply connected to this vibrant city”.
This will be the second Australian property for the ultra-luxury chain.
Its first Australian property opened in Perth in 2019. Two other The Ritz-Carlton properties are under construction in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
