Etihad’s ‘The Residence’ finally available for first-class flyers

Enjoy exclusivity, privacy, and comfort by booking yourself a stay in the only three-suite luxury cabin in the world, The Residence.

A private, spacious cabin with dedicated rooms for sleeping, lounging, and grooming is what dreams are made of when one is trapped on a long-haul flight. Fortunately, Etihad is now making this dream a reality for its first-class passengers, thanks to the return of The Residence.

Does Etihad still offer The Residence?

Following the pandemic, Etihad placed the A380 superjumbo aircraft on hiatus. However, due to the resurgent demand of air travel across all networks, the A380s will be making a comeback, The Residence along with them. Etihad Airways announced in December 2022 that the A380 superjumbo would be returning to the skies in 2023, and The Residence is currently only available upon this long-haul flyer, which is reportedly only traversing airspace between Abu Dhabi and London.

What is The Residence by Etihad?

The Residence by Etihad is a step beyond first-class travel. This exclusive cabin boasts a comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom and shower, and a luxurious private living room for lounging. The Residence is designed to be shared by two people, and the latest information indicates that, while The Residence once provided a private butler service and a custom menu, the culinary offering is now the same as First Class.

How much does The Residence cost?

The Residence is now available as an upgrade to passengers flying on a First Class Etihad ticket. The request can be completed within the ‘Manage My Booking’ section of the airline’s website. Reports indicate the cost of upgrading to The Residence heads north of AUD$3000, while the average price of a first class ticket on Etihad is around AUD$5700.
