Cartier’s sparkling new boutique is now open at Sydney Airport

The boutique showcases unique architectural elements and interior design vernacular alongside a full offering of jewellery, watches and accessories.

Sydney’s T1 International Terminal made headlines for hosting the largest collection of luxury brands under one roof at SYD X, and now Cartier joins the showcase, the first Cartier boutique to open at an Australian airport. Accompanied by Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Dior, Gucci, Prada, Saint Laurent, Bottega, Celine and Loewe, Cartier continues to expand its Australian presence with the new retail space which spans 170 square metres.

Set against a backdrop of champagne-hued mesh, Cartier’s facade takes inspiration from scenes of yachts floating in Sydney Harbour, featuring four sweeping architectural sails that soar over seven metres tall. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a pink, white and gold interior theme accented with dynamic lighting and tactile surface finishes that convey a sense of elevated tranquillity. The signature feature wall is a must-see element, a tactile custom creation designed in fabric and complementary straw marquetry by British craftsman Alexander Lamont. The store presents a full Cartier offering, including jewellery, watch collections, accessories, leather goods, fragrances and gifts.

Sydney Airport’s executive general manager commercial, Mark Zaouk, says Cartier’s arrival is the final jewel in the SYD X crown. “After several years of planning and development, it’s remarkable to see our ambitious retail vision come to life with 20 of the world’s best global brands under one roof,” says Zouk. “Sydney Airport is now positioned as a top player in the world of luxury, offering the most extensive collection of exclusive travel retail anywhere in the southern hemisphere.”
