Onboard Aranui 5

For more than 30 years, Aranui Cruises has been taking discerning travellers on the adventure of a lifetime. While unique mixed passenger-freighter vessel, Aranui 5, carries supplies to tiny communities in far-flung locations, guests explore a world of unspoiled beauty, home to hospitable people and a vibrant culture. With local crew, cuisine and culture, Aranui 5 is one of the most compelling ways to explore French Polynesia.

The custom-built passenger and freight ship can accommodate up to 230 passengers across 103 cabins. With eight guest decks, Polynesian-inspired interiors and an outdoor swimming pool, it offers a unique cruising experience. Part supply ship, part cruise liner, the vessel also features various lounge and bar areas, a library, a shopping boutique, spa, gym, and even a tattoo studio.

Expect local daily feasts featuring traditional Polynesian food like local pork cooked in an ‘umu’ earth oven, freshly caught fish, French pastries and fruits, washed down with complimentary French wine during onboard lunches and dinners.

The popular Veranda Bar is ideal for a sunset cocktail and the panoramic Sky Bar offers a great vantage point to watch the ship’s cargo activities or gaze out at sea in every direction. Enjoy evening entertainment from the lively Aranui Band with their infectious Polynesian rhythms.

While cargo is being offloaded from the vessel, guests have ample time to explore the remote ports during these included guided activities.

In 2024, Aranui 5’s traditional 12-day roundtrip cruise from Papeete visits the six inhabited Marquesas Islands of Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Tahuata, Fatu Hiva and Hiva Oa. The voyage alternates between picturesque Tuamotu atolls Fakarava and Kauehi on the journey north to the Marquesas and Rangiroa and Makatea on the return leg.
